Proud to present you this pretty Jaguar XK 120DHC SE built on June 4, 1954 and then shipped to America on June 23rd 1954.

The Jaguar XK 120DHC was the first post-war sports car produced by Jaguar & shown at the British International Motor Show in 1948 as a concept car to test the new Jaguar engine. The design was so successful that Jaguar decided to put the car in production. The “120” refers to the top speed of 120 mph (192 km/h) making the XK 120 the fastest production car of its time.

Sport Edition

All XK models had a separate chassis with a mounted body, drum brakes front and rear, 3.4 Litre engine with 2 SU carburetors and a manual gearbox. The SE version was a sportier version with a faster 180 HP engine, special dual exhaust system, wire wheels with knock-off wheel nuts, stronger torsion bars and rear springs.

Several adjustments were done in order to allow taller people to drive the car easily:

  • New pedal box was mounted in the bulkhead which gives more room at the feet
  • The battery has been moved under the front fender (more room behind the seats)
  • Bucket seats were mounted, creating more space as the can be slidden further to the rear
In 2016 this XK 120DHC was offered for sale by the American owner as an unfinished restoration project. He was restoring the car with a friend, that unfortunately passed away. The car was purchased by a Dutch Jaguar lover. In the Netherlands, the car was completely dismantled and the body was further prepared and painted (2016). The engine was already overhauled in the US but was checked a second time in the Netherlands. Interior and soft top have been completely renewed to the highest standards. All invoices and pictures are present.
