Brooklands Racing celebration cancelled

Smaller, online-streamed event planned

The celebration weekend at Brooklands circuit on 15-16 May to mark 100 years of Bentley racing success, including its maiden victory in 1921, has had to be CANCELLED in its current form, due to the existing Covid-19 pandemic restrictions in place.

However, it’s hoped a small, more informal event can still be held at the historic track, featuring EXP2, Allan Winn from Brooklands Museum and a select number of invited guests. In order that Members can still enjoy the day, however, it’s planned to stream the event via webcam.

More details on this will be communicated in due course.

On 16 May 1921, Frank Clement scored Bentley’s first ever race victory, winning the Junior Short Handicap at Brooklands, driving the company’s 3-litre EXP2 (pictured).
